the biggest quantum risk might not be the day a quantum computer finally breaks todays encryption
it might be the years of infrastructure migration before that happens
banks
blockchains
cloud system
government database
wallet and identity system
all rely on cryptography that cant simply be replaced overnight
thats why i think the post quantum transition need to start long before the threat become practical
this is also what make @quipnetwork interesting to me
the real question isnt just how powerful quantum computer can become
its whether our infrastructure can adapt fast enough when the old security assumption stop being safe
