Hi All,

Please update Quip Node Manager to v0.3.0 as soon as possible:

::ballot_box_with_ballot:: v0.3.0 adds validator onboarding and on-chain governance, the same model we plan for mainnet:

  • Become a validator: bond stake, register your session keys and apply. When the Foundation council approves you, you can be elected to produce blocks next to the bootnodes.
  • Governance: the Foundation council votes on validator admission and network changes. A motion passes with two thirds of the council.
  • Rewards: a scheduled emission of 40 million QUIP per year now funds mining rewards. Mempool job payouts are weighted by rank.

::counterclockwise_arrows_button:: Chain reset: this release needs a new chain, because the bootnodes stake and bond at genesis. The reset happens between Tuesday 13 October and Wednesday 14 October. We will post here when the new chain is up. Then stop and start your node to switch to it.

Hi All – chain reset complete. Unfortunately you will need to update to v0.3.1 or newer Quip Node Manager:

The reason is changes to the genesis block that were required I was not expecting. Apologies for the inconvenience!
